About the DesignerJoyce grew up in the heart of the Wind River Valley in Riverton, Wyoming, home of the Wind River Indian Reservation. A self-taught quilter, most of her early quilting was done by hand. Her Native American and Western influences are obvious in her earthy patterns where she boldly blends colors, shapes and ideas into her unique, and somewhat contemporary designs.
Joyce has completed her Master's Degree from Regis University where she studied communication and adult education from an aspect of spirituality. Her undergraduate degree is in Social Work, where she spent 12 years as a School Social Worker. She has worked with many troubled students and families. She has seen alot of dysfunction, and lived through her disfunction. If not for God, allowing her to gradually change, forgive and love that she is who she is. Since 1983 when she gave her live to Christ she continues to be a work in progress. Joyce gives all the credit for her talents to God. He is her "Red Leaf", bringing new life throughout the seasons. She calls Wyoming her home and shares her busy life with her new husband, two boys and many special friends. Their encouragement, excitement, support and prayers are like a breath of fresh air, and are a cornerstone to her personal development. Points To Ponder
